The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.

Counselling is a form of therapy that offers you a safe and confidential space in which to explore and reflect on any aspect of your life. Counselling can be a useful tool for people suffering from a huge range of mental health issues but is also an increasingly popular and powerful method of self care.

I believe that there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to counselling and therefore, I integrate elements from many forms of counselling within my sessions to create a bespoke service that meets the individual preferences and needs of each of my clients.

The therapeutic relationship is different to any past relationship you have experienced. I cannot even begin to put into words, how powerful it can be to talk, reflect and explore with a trusted person outside of your social circle and family.

My main priorities will always be making sure that you feel comfortable and heard.

Adolescents & Young Adults

I began my career working as a counsellor in a number of high schools and have continued to work with this age group within my private practice. I am fully trained in all risk and safe guarding issues necessary when working with adolescents and young adults.

One of my specialisms within this age group is working with clients who are suffering from identity issues or lack of self confidence (including all areas of body confidence). I work with clients to help them learn to accept themselves and also understand the significant impact of social media and peer pressure on these sensitive areas.

Due to the age of the clients, the referrals normally come through a family member or outside agency which is a process that I am comfortable with and I will try to ensure that both the family and the client feel safe and comfortable with our sessions. If you would like to discuss these services in greater detail then I would be more than happy to arrange a consultation via phone on email.

Some of the many reasons that people come to counselling are because they’re experiencing

  • Anxiety

  • Bereavement

  • Stress

  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem

  • Breakdown of relationships

  • PTSD

  • Mental or Physical Abuse

  • Loss

  • PND

  • Identity or sexuality issues.

You may be experiencing one or more of these issues, you may be experiencing something completely different or you may just want to get to know yourself better but counselling could be exactly what you’re looking for.
